County shelters offering half-price pets
San Diego County Animal Services is cutting adoption fees in half for dogs and cats through Sunday, county authorities said.
The regular cost of adopting a puppy or dog is $69, and $58 for a kitten or cat. The half-price special fees include spaying or neutering, a microchip, updated vaccinations and a free license and veterinary exam.
Fees will be waived for cats and dogs ages 5 and older.
The county operates three shelters: the Central Shelter at 5480 Gaines St. in San Diego, the North Shelter at 2481 Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad and the South Shelter at 5821 Sweetwater Road in Bonita.
The shelters are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. For more information, call (619) 767-2675 or visit sddac.com.
