Big balloons at Holiday Bowl parade
Huge balloons. Enormous. The streets downtown will be filled with them in different shapes and sizes, as favorite characters between the marching bands, floats and drill teams during the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade. The fun starts after a 5k run/walk, entertaining more than 100,000 people who’ll watch live, not to mention the folks watching on their televisions at home. The marching bands will battle it out right after the parade, all of which leads up to the big game between Michigan State and Washington State at 6 p.m.
Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade: 10 a.m. next Thursday, Dec. 28. Beginning at West Cedar Street and North Harbor Drive, continuing south on Harbor Drive, and ending at Pacific Highway and West Harbor Drive in downtown San Diego. Free (grandstand seating is $22-$25). holidaybowl.com.
