Watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony on the USS Midway

When you’re cheering on America at this year’s 2016 Rio Olympics Opening Ceremony, your couch just won’t do.

The USS Midway is inviting all patriotic fans to hop aboard on Friday, Aug. 5 at 6:30 p.m., where Brazilian Productions - in partnership with NBC 7 and the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center - are presenting a night of celebration bursting with Team U.S.A.-pride.

There’s certainly much to be proud about, as San Diego and the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center have been home to many athletes competing in the 2016 Olympics.

Beyond watching the live broadcast of the Rio Opening Ceremony on the flight deck’s two screens, guests can mingle with U.S. Olympic Athletes, watch sports demonstrations, snap a photo opp with a real Olympic torch and dance along to Brazilian entertainment including feathered Samba dancers, Bateria percussionists and Capoeiristas.

One attendee will even win a round-trip flight to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Tickets for this event are temporarily sold out, but more will be released on Aug. 1. Check back at
