Spring Busker Fest brings weird & wacky to Seaport Village

Share

Trade in your peaceful seaside walks for shocking surprises and astonishing feats. The Spring Busker Festival returns to Seaport Village on March 4 and 5, and they’re bringing back all the best of the bizarre.

First things first... What’s a busker? These street performers have been around for decades, recognized by their spellbinding acts you’ve likely encountered on San Francisco’s Pier 39 or along one of San Diego’s multiple boardwalks. For the Seaport Village Busker Festival, talent is brought in from around the world to entertain locals at no cost, except for a suggested tip or two.

This year’s lineup includes sword swallowers, fire jugglers, acrobats and stilt walkers from noon to 6 p.m. both days competing to win the People’s Choice Award.

For the adults looking for a little extra fun, Buskers After Dark will take place on Saturday, March 4 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This 18-and-up only event will have buskers performing edgier, uncensored acts along with a DJ and food and drink specials.

To add to the excitement, the restaurants and shops in the neighborhood at Seaport Village will be open during the festival and will be hosting special offers for audiences. The Spring Busker Festival is free for all ages.
