Another busy summer weekend in San Diego with events that include Supergirl Pro Surf Competition, Zedd at Omnia, KAABOO Discovery Tour, and HessFest.

7.27: Elephante

Michigan-born, Harvard grad Tim Wu quit a high-paying consulting job to make music full-time. In less than five years, Wu has amassed over 45 million plays on SoundCloud and 100 million total digital streams. 7.27: National Tequila Day Tasting

Even though National Tequila Day was July 24, there are no complaints when it comes to this Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa event filled with live music, outdoor activities, and oh, yeah, tequila tasting featuring Tequila Ocho and Tomas Estes, plus The Pony Room will showcase a collection of more than 100 tequila varieties.

7.28 KAABOO Discovery Tour

Watch as four bands battle it out for a chance to earn a spot to play at the upcoming KAABOO Del Mar in September. Competing bands will be Matthew Phillips, Cali Conscious, FAULKNER, and Spare Parts for Broken Hearts. Doors open at 7 p.m.

7.28-30 Surpergirl Pro 10th anniversary

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this surf competition brings hundreds of world-class athletes to the Oceanside Pier to showcase the best of women surfing. In between surf sets, guests can explore the competition’s Festival Village that will feature women skateboarding and DJing, as well as art, dance classes, eSports Gamer Pro tournament, hair styling by Paul Mitchell stylists, international food trucks, beer gardens and 16 live concerts, including one from Aaron Carter.

7.29: Imperial Beach Surf Dog Competition

Sixty-plus water-loving canines carve waves along the coast in the original surf dog competition, which now includes a beer garden, awards ceremony and SurFUR Expo, all raising funds for the San Diego Humane Society. - Michael Benninger

7.29 Yoga by the Pool

The L.A. DJ born Dijon McFarlane has worked with everyone from 2 Chains to Travi$ Scott and produced “Needed Me” from Rihanna’s “Anti.” He released his sophomore studio album, “Cold Summer,” last year and followed it up with the singles “Pop It, Shake It” with YG and “Goin’ Up” with Ty Dolla $ign and YG in the last few months. - Scott McDonald

7.29 Arts & Amps

Head out to Karl Strauss for the final version of this summertime afternoon filled arts, music and beer. Taking the stage will be The Schizophonics and Creature Canyon. Creative contributions will come from Cohort Collective and Creative Souls on the West Coast. Artists from Cohort Collective will be creating live mural art during the event.
