San Diego: This Weekend (Jan. 3-6)

The year is off to a quiet start, but fun weekend events around San Diego include Kim Ann Foxman at Bang Bang and a San Diego Vintage Flea Market.

1.3-5 Sam Morril

“What do you even ask on these first dates now? ‘What kind of music do you like?’ Who cares. This is my new first date question: How likely are you to yell at me in public? That one’s going to come in handy. I don’t want to be in that relationship, and eight months in she’s screaming at me in front of strangers. I’m like, ‘It’s cool. We both like Chance the Rapper.’” — Sam Morril on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

1.4: Kim Ann Foxman

After her latest solo offering, 2017’s 4-track Energy EP, this New York-based DJ and producer joined forces with Andrew Potter and Brian Hersey to form the electro-house trio Pleasure Planet. The band’s self-titled 4-track EP was released last year. Expect Foxman to play cuts from both. — Scott McDonald
