Quartyard breaks ground on new location in East Village
On Nov. 1, Quartyard 2.0 broke ground on its new location at 1301 Market St. in East Village. Like its predecessor, the new site will have a coffee shop, restaurant, dog run, and craft beers and cocktails.
When news broke last year that Quartyard, on the corner of Park and Market streets, was closing down, locals were not happy. But earlier this year, the successful pop-up announced it would be moving to a new location, which just so happened to be right down the road.
The new space is a bit smaller than before, 13,000 feet, as compared to 25,000 square feet, and will be able to accommodate up to 1,000 people. Director Justin Navalle said during the ground breaking event on Wednesday that he expects the site to play host to concerts, art events and specialty dining experiences.
Neighbors can make a mark on the new site by purchasing personalized bricks that will be placed at the entrance to Quartyard.
Quartyard 2.0, being branded as “Your City Block,” is expected to open in early 2018.
