The spa at Pala Casino Spa & Resort has been named the third best in North America by one of the leading travel and wellness websites in the country.

In its recently released survey, Spas of America also ranked the Pala spa No. 1 in California and No. 1 out of all U.S. casinos.

Bill Bembenek, Pala’s chief executive officer, called it a “tremendous tribute” to the employees at the spa “to achieve these high rankings across the board on international, state and industry levels.”

The survey’s results gave the property its best showing in the 11 years that Spas of America has recognized it as among the best.

“Pala Spa continues to be a favorite resort spa in Southern California and one of the most popular casino spas in the United States,” said Craig Oliver, president of Spas of America.

“It offers a central Southern California location, a beautiful backdrop of the Palomar Mountains and combines fun, entertainment and relaxation to create an environment that promotes health and rejuvenation.”

Pala’s 10,000-square-foot zen-inspired spa, located off the resort pool and away from the bustle of the casino and hotel, has 14 treatment rooms, with outdoor patio massage areas and showers.

The full-service facility offers an extensive menu of massages, facials, body treatments and nail services.

The Top 100 spas on Spas of America’s list included 66 in the U.S. - 17 of which are in California - 28 in Canada, three in Mexico, two in Brazil and one in Turkey.

Pala’s new RV Resort has also recently received accolades, winning four Gold Awards as Best RV Resort and Best Campground Resort for 2016 in readers’ polls conducted by the magazines Trailer Life and Motorhome.

Soon after after opening last May, the 10-acre RV park scored a perfect rating from the Good Sam Club, which bills itself as “the world’s largest organization of RV owners.”
