Introducing the SCARIEST Haunted House in San Diego
Want to step into a real-life horror movie?
Before entering the only “true, interactive extreme haunt experience” in the world, McKamey Manor requires that all visitors sign a waiver and be at least 21-years-old.
Located in the private Rancho Penasquitos home of operator Russ McKamey, 56, the “experience” lasts approximately four hours and unlike most haunted houses, the actors CAN touch you. In fact, it’s not uncommon for patrons to leave with cuts, bruises and other minor injuries.
Lived near McKamey Manor in PQ for yrs, walked my kids to school/park past it. No problems. https://t.co/l6JTNpfdBS pic.twitter.com/tuPJQhVvZh - Sandy Coronilla (@SandyCoro) October 29, 2015
Regarding the twisted experience, NPR host David Greene said, “McKamey Manor is like going through horror boot camp. Many of the actors are Marines, and McKamey spent 23 years in the Navy. They do everything they can to break you down mentally and physically, but once you emerge, you’re part of an elite group.”
Think you’re cut for it this Halloween?
In addition to a mile-long waiting list, guests are thoroughly screened (physically and mentally) before being taken to the location. Yes, the location is undisclosed and you are taken to it blindfolded.
Should you get accepted, another cool thing, you get a killer souvenir video!
