Hillcrest CityFest celebrates community

CityFest, one of the most anticipated neighborhood street fairs in San Diego, will welcome revelers to the heart of Hillcrest this Sunday. Covering four city blocks on Fifth Avenue, the 32nd annual celebration features carnival rides, Rad Hatter Kids Pavilion, Artist Alley, arts and crafts, and a beer garden. With a crowd of 150,000 expected, more than 250 vendors will sell wares and food. The entertainment lineup includes Viri y Los Bandidos, Rip Carson, The Paper Days, AJ Froman, The Tighten Ups and The Bad Vibes. Performances take place from noon to 8 p.m. on the Main Stage.

DJs will spin tunes for an all-ages dance party under the Hillcrest sign from 8 to 11 p.m.
