The Dixie Pig at The Tipsy Crow

Billed as “SDCC’s largest fan party,” IGN, Sony Pictures and MRC Studios present the Dixie Pig in honor of The Dark Tower, in theaters Aug. 4 and starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. Guests can enjoy food, drinks, entertainment and promotional giveaways. Free. First come, first served. 21+.

SYFY/Nerd Machine Fan Party at The New Children’s Museum

This SYFY/Nerd Machine Fan Party (one of two SYFY/Nerd Machine fan events; the second takes place Saturday at the same location) treats party-goers to photo booths, DJ sets, musical performances and a live show from 80s cover band the Spazmatics (Thursday party only). Nerdist and Geek & Sundry Alpha Party

That Hashtag Show’s Mission Comic-Con Strikes Back Party

All things geek are celebrated at this charity event featuring DJs, live silk screening, giveaways, geek speed dating and special appearances. Proceeds benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Entry is free, but a $10 donation gets you entered in a raffle, where prizes include San Diego Comic-Con 2018 badges.
