Chula Vista HarborFest boasts bands, tacos and water activities

This annual family festival is set along the bay and includes live music, tacos and beer, cocktails, activities for kids, and vendors this Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Check out performances by acts that include Hijos Del Santo, Vokab Kompany, DJ Chucuchu, Sacred Heart Dancers, Mariachi Real San Diego, the Manny Cepeda Orchestra, Jean Isaacs San Diego Dance Theater, Danza Mexi’Cayotl, Amy Monzon, and On Fifth. A junior chef competition will be held on the community stage for culinary masters from ages 9 to 13.

The battle for the best street tacos and spirits will go down between more than two dozen participants during Tacos & Spirits Revolution, craft beer samples will be featured in the Craft Beer Uprising, stop by the wine tasting or in the food truck alley, and take in lucha libre matches that start at 11 a.m. and continue every hour until 5 p.m.

In between the live music and food and drinks, there will be pet adoptions, a classic-car expo, rock-climbing wall, laser tag, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, a pet expo, volleyball, inflatable jumpers, art and other activities.
