A Ja Rule & Ashanti concert is coming to SD
Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez have been ruling Las Vegas this summer, proving once again that the early 2000s are making a serious comeback.
Right on trend comes none other than Ja Rule and Ashanti on a joint summer tour stopping at Observatory North Park on Saturday, Sept. 3.
Who can forget Ja growling through the likes of “Put it On Me” or the Grammy-nominated “Always on Time” with the sweet, soulful Ashanti belting the chorus? Or his J. Lo-collaborations of “I’m Real” and “Ain’t it Funny” that used to rule the radio playlists?
Ashanti was known both as the go-to vocalist on many rap hits in the early 2000s, but also made a name for herself as a solo artist with songs such as “Rock Wit U,” “Foolish” and “Rain on Me.”
The two had several other chart-topping hits together, including “Mesmerize” and “Down 4 You.” Feeling old? Us to. Brush up on your lyrics and dance moves, because this is a summer love show not to miss.
The 11-city tour starts in New York on Aug. 25 and wraps up in New Orleans on Sept. 10. It also includes stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Atlanta.
The concert at Observatory North Park is ages 18-and-up. Tickets are $55. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Fore more information, visit observatorysd.com.
