CRSSD’s spring edition returns for first time since March 2020
From the SDCCU Holiday Bowl to the Go-Go’s concert at San Diego Civic Theatre, there has been a recent rise of event cancelations due to the COVID-19 omicron variant — but CRSSD Festival isn’t one of them.
Today, CRSSD Festival officially announced the lineup for its spring homecoming to downtown’s Waterfront Park, scheduled for March 5 and 6, 2022.
The festival, which was typically held twice a year pre-pandemic, showcases the best in electronic, techno and house music. More than 30 acts are confirmed for the spring 2022 lineup, including sets from Glass Animals, Sofi Tukker and Blu DeTiger on the main Ocean View stage.
This is the first spring edition of the two-day festival since March 2020. That event was held a week shy of the statewide shutdown enacted on March 15 due to COVID-19. After canceling both Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 editions, CRSSD Festival made its official resurfacing with a Fall 2021 edition on Sept 25 and 26.
Aside from the Fall 2021 edition, the festival’s production company FNGRS CRSSD has hosted additional, smaller-scale music events throughout the year, such as DAYS.MVS in the Park earlier this month. Another event, titled FNGRS CRSSD: Opening Day, is scheduled for Saturday at Petco Park.
For CRSSD Festival, representatives confirmed that the event will follow all current state and local COVID-19 guidelines in place at the time of the event. Facial coverings and social distancing will be also encouraged.
CRSSD tickets go on sale 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, with presale starting 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4. Only past ticket buyers are eligible for presale. Prices are not yet available, but are expected to be announced in the next few days. For updates, visit crssdfest.com.
