Postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, ‘Elton John Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour’ will now conclude its North American leg on Nov. 20, 2022, in Los Angeles, the only U.S. West Coast dates he has scheduled

After being postponed by more than a year because of the coronavirus pandemic, the “Elton John Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour” is being extended with 20 new North American stadium concerts and 11 new European stadium concerts in the summer and fall of next year.

The legendary singer-songwriter, who announced his new tour dates on Wednesday morning, will conclude his multi-year farewell concert trek with back-to-back shows at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Nov. 19 and 20, 2022. Apart from an Oct. 21, 2022, performance at Vancouver’s BC Place, there are no other upcoming West Coast dates by John, who delivered a heartfelt San Diego farewell concert in January 2019 at Pechanga Arena.

All of the new stadium dates appear below, along with ticket information. Dodger Stadium has a special significance in John’s career. His two concerts there in 1975 drew a total of 110,000 people and were the first rock concerts to be held at that Los Angeles stadium since The Beatles had performed there in 1966 on what turned out to be the English band’s final tour.

John disclosed his 2022 stadium tour with a statement on social media that reads, in part:

“The shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe. I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career.

“Whether it’s next summer in Frankfurt (Germany) or at the legendary Dodger Stadium for the grand finale in the United States, I can’t wait to see you all on the road one last time ... .”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s new 2022 stadium shows will come after the postponed indoor leg of his tour — which was pushed back from March 2020 to this fall — concludes with an April 28 performance next year at Miami’s FTX Arena, formerly known as AmericanAirlines Arena. The final dates on his farewell tour will take place Jan. 27 and 28, 2023, at MT Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand.

Tickets for the new stadium concerts will go on sale to the general public on June 30 for the North American dates. A pre-sale for American Express members (offer code is: AMEX) begins today at noon local time and continues until June 29 at 10 p.m. local time.

A pre-sale will also be held, starting at noon today, for VIP packages (prices range from $249 to $1,999 each) and for platinum tickets (prices unavailable as of this writing). Other pre-sales, for which prices have not yet been announced, include: a Rocket Fan Club pre-sale (which begins Friday at noon); a a Spotify pre-sale (which begins Monday at 10 a.m.); and Los Angeles Dodgers, and AEG pre-sales (which all begin Tuesday at 10 a.m.). As of this writing

More ticket information can be obtained at and, where ticket prices will presumably soon be posted.

The tour is being produced by AEG Presents, which owns a controlling interest in Pechanga Arena San Diego and exclusively books Humphreys Concerts by the Bay. AEG is the parent company of Goldenvoice, which produces the annual Coachella and Stagecoach festivals in Indio.
