Wonderfront Music and Arts Festival to offer single-day tickets on Friday
With the debut of Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival next month, many locals are likely curious if the festival will exceed expectations, or not live up to the hype.
Scheduled for Friday, Nov. 22 through Sunday, Nov. 24, it comes on the heels of September’s more established music and arts festivals, KAABOO and CRSSD. Plus, Wonderfront’s downtown location leads itself to an inevitable comparison to the defunct San Diego Street Scene, which is cited as a key inspiration by Wonderfront event organizers.
Now those interested in checking out the first-ever event will have the opportunity to scope out the scene — without having to shell out for a full weekend pass.
Wonderfront recently announced that single-day tickets to the festival will go on sale Friday, Oct. 11. While a 3-day general admission pass carries a $239 price tag, Friday-only tickets are $79, with the cost jumping to $99 for entry on Saturday or Sunday.
There will be a limited amount of single-day tickets available for purchase. However, those who subscribe to the festival’s email database, WonderList, can snag tickets starting Oct. 9 with a presale code sent to their inbox.
The festival features nearly 100 music acts, including Miguel and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals (Friday); Migos, Slightly Stoopid, and MGMT (Saturday); and Tyga, Busta Rhymes and Tribal Seeds (Sunday). View the full list of performers and daily lineups here.
The downtown festival, billed as “where the city meets the sea,” will set up seven main stages along the waterfront of San Diego Bay. Some of the venues include Broadway Pier, Seaport Village, and Embarcadero Marina Park South. In addition to music, the festival includes other art and entertainment attractions, like skateboarding exhibitions from investor and event ambassador Tony Hawk.
