Spin Cycle: July EDM + DJ performances
Performances coming to San Diego in July include Zedd, Kristian Nairn, Porter Robinson and Chantel Jeffries.
7.3: Zedd
Zedd, aka 29-year-old Russian DJ Anton Zaslavski, has paired with an impressive roster of vocalists over the years — from Maren Morris, Selena Gomez and Aloe Blacc, to Hayley Williams, Troy Sivan and Kesha. But it’s Katy Perry who appears on his latest single, February’s 365. Perry also hired Zaslavski as an opening act on select dates of her Witness: The Tour last year.

7.5: Fisher

7.5: TEED
TEED, or Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, is U.K.-born, U.S.-based DJ, producer, singer and CRSSD vet Orlando Higginbottom. After releasing a handful of singles last year, Higginbottom has only released a pair of remixes to his track Energy Fantasy so far in 2019.

7.5: Coast Club
After performing as DJ/production trio WeAreTreo for years, Trevor Shawn and Ace Future rebranded as Coast Club when Spencer Regan left the group. The new duo dropped their debut single, Coastin (feat. Sammy Johnson), last year, and followed it with another, Stay Here With You (feat. Cat Clark), in March.

7.10: Nightmares on Wax (DJ Set)
George Evelyn, aka English DJ/composer Nightmares on Wax, swaps his full band and backing singers for a laptop on this return trip to Music Box. Evelyn’s latest full-length album, Shape The Future, was released in 2018 and features appearances from Mozez, Jordan Rakei and Sadie Walker.

7.12: Deorro
This dude was just here in April at the exact same venue. But that shouldn’t matter because Deorro, aka L.A.-based DJ Erick Orrosquieta, can crank out singles with the best of ‘em. Orrosquieta already has released a handful in 2019 -- February’s Wild Like The Wind (as well as an accompanying remix), March’s Pica with Henry Fong and Elvis Crespo, Keep It Goin with Danny Avila in April, and most recently, Obvious, in May.

7.18: Kristian Nairn
What will Irish actor Kristian Nairn (Hodor in Game of Thrones) do now that the beloved HBO series has finally come to an end? Continue to DJ, of course. Nairn has played in San Diego during Comic-Con for the last four years and teamed with fellow DJ Alex Graham on the collaborative single, Life Is Too Short, in March.

7.19: Porter Robinson
The Grammy-nominated DJ/producer turns 27 a few days before appearing at this gig and was last in San Diego to close things down at OMFG NYE 2019. While Robinson hasn’t released any new music in a while, seeing a performer that can sell out arenas at a venue like OMNIA is always a smart move.

7.20: Chantel Jeffries
The recent PACIFIC cover artist (March 2019) returns to San Diego for another night in America’s Finest City. Jeffries recently teamed with Chicago singer/rapper Jeremih (one half of R&B duo MihTy with Ty Dolla Sign) on the June-released single, Chase The Summer.

U.K. house DJ and producer Jon Wafer has remixed the likes of Groove Armada, Hot Since 82, Matador and Pirupa. Last year, he teamed with Kenny Dope on the single Hypnotic, as well as releasing another one on his own, October’s Bondage.

7.27: Tritonal
Despite performing together for over a decade, Texas-based DJ/producer duo Tritonal (aka David Reed and Chad Cisneros) made their real breakthrough partnering with The Chainsmokers on 2015’s hit single, Until You Were Gone. Last month, the pair released their third full-length studio album, U & Me. It features guest appearances from the likes of Rachel Platten, Sultan + Shepard, Lourdiz, LEVV and Apek.

7.27: Crankdat
Twenty-two-year-old trap DJ and producer Christian Smith (aka Crankdat) infamously gave up a full-ride athletic scholarship to pursue a music career and has remixed the likes of DJ Snake, Travis Scott, Post Malone, Skrillex, Jaden Smith and Sheck Wes. Smith’s debut EP, Gearworld, Vol. 1, was released in April and features guest appearances from shYbeast, Gammer, Sara Skinner and more.
