Spin Cycle: June EDM + DJ performances

Performances coming to San Diego in June include R3hab, Tiësto and Sirus Hood.

6.1: Josh Wink

The veteran Philly-born DJ and co-founder of Ovum Recordings has remixed the likes of Moby, Depeche Mode, Gorillaz, Paul Oakenfold and many more. Last year, Wink remixed his own 1995 track, I’m Ready, which he released under the alias Size 9.

6.7: Party Favor

Party Favor (aka L.A.-based DJ Dylan Ragland) loves San Diego. He was here on New Year’s Eve, and then back again as recently as April. That was also the month Ragland released his debut full-length album, Layers. The 11-track collection features collaborations with GTA, A$AP Ferg, Rich The Kid, graves, Juicy J and more.

6.8: R3hab

The Dutch House DJ and producer R3HAB (aka Fadil El Ghoul) released his sophomore album, The Wave, last year. He’s kept things rolling in 2019 with a handful of new singles, including This Is How We Party with Icona Pop, All Around The World (La La La) with A Touch of Class, and Don’t Give Up On Me with Andy Grammar.

6.8: MadeinTYO

Atlanta-bred, L.A.-based rapper MadeinTYO (aka Malcolm Davis) released his debut album, Sincerely, Tokyo, last October and made his first San Diego appearance at the Music Box in February. He heads to OMNIA after appearing on recent singles from Boombox Cartel, Vintage Lee and Yung Felix, as well as dropping one of his own – last month’s Chucky Cheese.

6.8: Bondax + Luxxury

After a bit of time off, English duo Bondax (Adam Kaye and George Townsend) returned last year with the 10-track Revolve. The album features collaborations with Andreya Triana, Duckwrth, Aquilo, Daniel Alexander and more. Luxxury, aka DJ Blake Robin, released his latest single, Another Lifetime (feat. Scavenger Hunt) in April.

6.14: Borgeous

Miami-based DJ and OMNIA regular John Borger has remixed everyone from Marshmello and Morgan Page to Ciara and Ariana Grande. He released his Dear Me EP last year and has put out the remixes to Make Me Yours with Zack Martino, as well as new single Leave with Jordyn Jones, so far in 2019.

6.15: Markus Schulz

The German-born/Miami-based trance DJ, founder of Coldharbour Recordings, and host of the Global DJ Broadcast radio show released his seventh studio album, We Are The Light, last year. The 31-song double album features collaborations with Smiley, Nikki Flores, Jared Lee, JES, Lachi, Soundland and others.

6.15: Riot Ten

Texas-based dubstep/hardtrap DJ and producer Riot Ten (aka Chris Wilson) released his Hype Or Die: Sun City EP in March. The six-track collection features collaborations with Throwdown, Stoutty, Pierce, Basstrick and Foreign Suspects.

6.21: Tiësto

The legendary Dutch DJ and AFTR:HRS Records founder returns to OMNIA one day shy of exactly a year from the last time he played the club. His eight-song, April-released Together EP pairs him with the likes of Sikdope, MESTO, 7 Skies, Micky Blue, Dzeko and John Christian.

6.21: Sirus Hood

Algerian-born, France-bred house DJ Sirus Hood kicked off this year by releasing his latest single, Out of the Box. He followed it in February with his four-track Out of Order EP, which features Kentucky-based DJ, producer and vocalist Kevin Knapp.

6.28: Cash Cash

The N.Y.-based DJ trio of Jean Paul Makhlouf, Alex Makhlouf and Samuel Frisch were just here in January to promote the release of their remix EP for 2018 single, Call You (feat. Nasri). Those whom the trio allowed to take a crack at their song include Breathe Carolina, The Him, Going Deeper, Steff da Campo and Crossnaders.

6.28: Tchami + Matroda

Tchami, the French future house DJ/producer and Confession Records boss with a penchant for religious garb, teams with Croatian DJ Matroda for the special double bill at Hard Rock. Tchami’s latest single, Omega (feat. Ibranovski), was released in March. Matroda just released his four-track RED Tape: Side B EP last month.

6.29: Wolfgang Gartner

After releasing his six-track Medicine EP last year, the California-based DJ and producer has released a pair of singles so far in 2019 – February’s Ectoplasm and last month’s 28 Grams.

6.29: Laidback Luke

When he’s not winning Kung Fu World Championships, the Filipino-Dutch DJ, producer, and Mixmash Records boss (real name Lucas Cornelis van Scheppingen) is happy to get behind the decks. In April, van Scheppingen teamed with Keanu Silva on new single, Oh Yes (Rockin’ with the Best).
