5.4: Snails

Coachella, EDC, Electric Forest and Lollapalooza vet Snails, aka Canadian DJ/producer Frédérik Durand, helped usher in his new genre of “vomitstep” with releases on Skrillex’s OWSLA and Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak labels. For his 2018 full-length debut album, Slimeageddon, he founded a label of his own, SLUGZ Music.

5.9: Slushii

Helping to close out 2018 with a December show at Parq last year, L.A.-based DJ Julian Scanlan (aka Slushii) gets a venue upsize for his return visit to San Diego. And while Scanlan’s previous stop dovetailed with the release of his sophomore studio album Dream, expect the 22-year-old’s set list to continue drawing heavily from the 16-track collection.

Pioneering New York DJ Todd Terry has remixed the likes of Demi Lovato, Daft Punk, Shakira, Usher, Kylie Minogue and many more. Yet despite being old enough to be a father to most of the popular DJs working today, Terry hasn’t stopped producing new music. New singles DJs Gotta Dance More with A-Trak and Figure of Jazz with Junior Sanchez were released last year.

5.24: Diplo

What? Diplo? You mean Diplo like (Thomas) Wes Pentz, the multiple-Grammy-winning producer behind Major Lazer, Mad Decent Records, Jack Ü, Silk City, LSD and significant hits for everyone from M.I.A. and MØ to Justin Bieber and Madonna? Well, hell yes, then.

5.24: Rich the Kid

Rich the Kid, aka Atlanta-based rapper Dimitri Roger, sure likes San Diego – and Bassmnt for that matter. The dude just appeared at the venue in March. To be fair, that was the month Roger released his sophomore studio album, The World Is Yours 2, his second album in a row to crack the top five on Billboard’s 200 chart. Now he’s back to properly celebrate.
