San Diego Guitar Festival celebrates women of guitar beginning Thursday at Balboa Park
Presenting a range of classical guitar music — from traditional and contemporary to free improvisation — the 2019 San Diego Guitar Festival celebrates women of guitar with three top concert guitarists. In the Inamori Pavilion at Balboa Park’s Japanese Friendship Garden, hear Juilliard-trained Korean guitarist Bokyung Byun tonight. Playing on classical and electric guitar, Jiyeon “Jiji” Kim performs on Saturday. On April 27, San Francisco-based classical guitarist and soprano Alexandra Iranfar performs. Admission to each concert includes entrance to the garden and a meet-the-artist reception following the concert. Free public parking is available in Balboa Park, with VIP parking available for purchase.
