Ozzy Osbourne announces his second farewell tour, but vows he is not retiring
“People ask me how I lasted 30 years; I’ll be (expletive) if I know!” Ozzy Osbourne marveled in a 1997 Union-Tribune interview.
Now, 21 years later, Osbourne has announced his “No More Tours 2” farewell tour, which follows his first (and clearly premature) “No More Tours” farewell trek of the 1990s. For good measure, “No More Tours 2” comes a year after the conclusion of Osbourne’s farewell tour with Black Sabbath, the pioneering English heavy metal band with which he rose to fame in the early 1970s.
The U.S. portion of “No More Tours 2” will kick off April 27 at Florida’s “Welcome to Rockville” festival in Jacksonville and conclude Oct. 13 at the MGM Garden Grand Arena in Las Vegas. It will include at least three California dates, including an Oct. 9 show at San Diego’s Mattress Firm Amphitheatre.
All tour dates and cities appear below.
“I’ve been blessed with an amazing life,” Osbourne said in a statement released Tuesday afternoon. “I’m looking at this final tour as being a huge celebration for my fans and anyone who has enjoyed my music over the past five decades.”
But is this really his final tour?
Apparently not.
“I’m not retiring,” he told Rolling Stone Tuesday. “It’s ‘No More Tours,’ so I’m just not doing world tours anymore. I’m still going to be doing gigs, but I’m not going on tour for six months at a time anymore. I’d like to spend some time at home.”
Tickets for Osbourne’s U.S. concerts go on sale to the general public on Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com, through the Live Nation app and by phone at (800) 745-3000.
A pre-sale for Citi card members will begin Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. local timethrough Citi’s Private Pass program.
Tickets for Osbourne’s San Diego show will be priced from $25 to $250 each, plus service charges.
