KAABOO Texas to debut with The Killers, Kid Rock and Sting headlining

KAABOO Texas will debut May 10-12 with The Killers, Kid Rock and Sting headlining.

The upscale music, food and comedy festival will be held in — and adjacent to — AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The lineup will also feature Lynyrd Skynyrd, Little Big Town, Ms, Lauryn Hill, Pitbull, Ludacris, Garbage, The Black Eyed Peas, and many more. KAABOO Texas is the latest edition of KAABOO, which debuted in 2015 with KAABOO Del Mar in San Diego and will launch its first KAABOO Cayman — on Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach in the Caribbean — Feb. 15-16. The new iteration in Texas has been organized in collaboration with the Jerry Jones family, the owners of the Dallas Cowboys football team.

“We are thrilled to be involved in this revolutionary entertainment event,” said Dallas Cowboys Football Club Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer Charlotte Jones Anderson.

“It is the first time that our family has ever partnered with a multi-day live event in order for us to offer this market a totally unique experience. The KAABOO brand shares the same energy and innovation that we strive for with AT&T Stadium,and we couldn’t be more excited to combine the magic of sports and music right here in Texas.”

In a 2018 San Diego Union-Tribune interview, KAABOO founder Bryan E. Gordon cited two luxury boutique hotel chains as one of his festival’s biggest inspirations.

“Probably the most influential reference points for me — as a guest, not from a business point of view — were looking at the hospitality industry and higher-end boutique hotel brands, like Aman and the Four Seasons,” Gordon said.

“The way they blend architecture and design with great culinary programs and great activities, all wrapped in a first-class hospitality and guest-services program, was the most foundational concept for me. ... I always planned KAABOO as a 365-day-a-year lifestyle…

“You always know you’re at a Four Seasons or Aman Resort, from an elemental point of view and guest-services point of view. That’s what I was trying to create — a festival where you know you’re in San Diego, Dallas or the Cayman Islands, but you also know you’re at KAABOO. We want to build this sort of year-round calendar of events, so people can pick and choose, and — we hope — vacation with us multiple times a year.”

Gordon works closely with Los Angeles-based Virgin Produced Co-Founder and CEO Jason Felts, who is KAABOO’s Chief Brand + Marketing Officer. The two are now teaming with Virgin Group honcho Richard Branson to mount a two-day Virgin Fest — at a U.S. location yet to be disclosed — later this year.

“Every KAABOO location has its own unique flavor, so we have to sort of dive in and become experts on what is authentic to that community,” Felts told the Union-Tribune last year.

“Given that I straddle the Virgin and KAABOO worlds, they have very similar sensibilities. The level of hospitality and customer service differentiates us from other festivals. And the thing we’ve been able to do, after four years, is understand what the DNA of the KAABOO brand is, what our consumer preferences are — and aren’t — and deliver a product well-targeted to KAABOO fans.

“Witness the fact that right now the No. 1 offshore-feeder market for KAABOO Cayman is Southern California, even though there are no direct flights to the Caymans.”

The initial prices for three-day passes for KAABOO Texas range from $299 for general admission and $999 and $4,199 for VIP packages, plus service fees.

Those wishing to really splurge can opt for the Ultimate Hang pass, which cost $15,000 per person for the 2018 edition of KAABOO Del Mar and $500,000 for a party of four for KAABOO Cayman.

The price for KAABOO Texas Ultimate Hang packages is $20,000 per person and includes: front and center stage viewing; priority access to onstage viewing platform; backstage access; front row seating for HUMOR ME comedy performances; unlimited complimentary beverages throughout the venue; front of stage cocktail service; priority access to meet and greets; access to Ultimate Hang lounge; gourmet meals curated by private chef in Ultimate Hang lounge; exclusive pre-event experience; a dedicated on-site concierge; and more.
