The Gin Blossoms, the Arizona rock band that last year celebrated its 30th anniversary, will headline the 2018 Freedom Concert aboard the USS Midway in San Diego.

To be held May 26 on the flight deck of the USS Midway Museum, the concert will benefit the Armed Services YMCA San Diego, STEP (Support The Enlisted Project) and SDMOM (San Diego Military Outreach Ministries). Ticket information appears below.

Originally known as the American Freedom Concert, this year’s edition will mark the eighth time the event has taken place on the Midway. Previous performers include Lifehouse, Wynonna, Ronnie Milsap, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Kenny Loggins, World Class Rockers and Three Dog Night.

The Gin Blossoms started off with a bang, when their major label debut album — 1992’s “New Miserable Experience”— sold five million copies, fueled by such hits as “Found Out About You,” “Hey Jealousy” and “Allison Road.” The band’s sixth and newest album, “Mixed Reality,” is due out in June.

The attendance capacity for the May 26 concert is 4,000, according to a representative for Live Nation, which is producing the event.

Tickets, priced from $25-$65, plus service charges, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com and by phone at (800) 745-3000.
