Big Sean will mount interactive ‘Unfriendly Reminder’ tour
Big Sean, the rapper who rose to prominence following the release of his 2011 debut album, “Finally Famous,” and has collaborated with Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, is hitting the road in a big — and interactive — way this year.
His North American “Unfriendly Reminder” tour will open April 12 at Orlando’s CFE Arena and conclude June 3 at Toronto’s RBC Echo Beach. It includes four California dates, beginning with an April 24 concert at Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at San Diego State University.
All tour dates and cities appear below for the tour, which also will feature Playboi Carti. The opening acts are Shy Glizzy and GASHI.
Big Sean’s set list for his tour will vary from night to night, depending in part on a vote by fans to choose their favorite 20 songs by him and to “help curate the set list from his entire discography.” Online voting will begin Thursday at uknowbigsean.com.
In a sign of how much musicians now rely on profits from touring, rather than sales of their recorded music, each city Big Sean performs in will have “brand new tour merchandise” for sale and — in select cities — fans will have the option to customize handpicked merchandise items.
Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com. Tickets for Big Sean’s April 24 San Diego show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com and by phone at (800) 745-3000.
Ticket prices for the San Diego show range from $30.50 to $70.50 each, plus service charges. There will be at least four pre-sales, starting Thursday at 10 a.m., including for Citi card holders.
