Marc Anthony, 28 years after his debut album, is on 'Legacy' tour

Your age probably determines when Marc Anthony first appeared on your radar.

Longtime fans may recall that Anthony — a protege of salsa music great Ruben Blades — released his first album solo album in 1991.

He earned his first Grammy nomination in 1995.

In 1998, he co-starred in Paul Simon’s short-lived Broadway musical, “The Capeman,” following several film roles.

In 2004, the Grammy-winning Anthony married the second of his three wives, Jennifer Lopez, with whom he co-starred in an acclaimed bio-flick about salsa music legend Héctor Lavoe.

After having twins and becoming minority owners in the Miami Dolphins football team, Anthony and Lopez divorced in 2014.

His many collaborators over the years have ranged from Lopez, The Fania All Stars and Mary J. Blige to Bad Bunny, Prince Royce and Menudo.

Blessed with a strong, flexible singing voice, the charismatic Anthony is now the top-selling male salsa vocalist in the music’s history. His Thursday concert here at Pechanga Arena San Diego should be a hits-filled affair.

Marc Anthony Legacy Tour 2019: 8 p.m. Thursday. Pechanga Arena San Diego, 3500 Sports Arena Blvd., Midway District. $65-$205, plus service charges. (888) 929-7849. axs.com.
