Springboard West fest set for Ocean Beach encore, with 39 bands, 8 solo acts and Pale Ale debut
For its second consecutive year in Ocean Beach, the three-day Springboard West festival will again culminate with its Band & Brew Crawl.
The Saturday crawl comes following two days of private showcase performances, music mentoring sessions and panel discussions at the OB Playhouse & Theatre Company.
The 11-hour crawl will feature 39 bands and eight solo artists — including The Shakes, Freedom, Xavier Keyz and Katrina Cain — performing an array of contemporary pop music styles.
It kicks off Saturday at 2 p.m. and will be held at the Playhouse and three adjacent locales: The Harp, Mother’s Saloon and Te Mana Cafe.
All proceeds from ticket sales for the crawl will go to Springboard West’s three nonprofit partners — Sustainable Artists, The Autism Tree Project Foundation and The Pioneer Foundation.
This year’s festival will also feature the debut of the limited edition Springboard Pale Ale.
Springboard West 2019 Band & Brew Crawl: 2 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday. At the OB Playhouse & Theatre Company, The Harp, Mother’s Saloon and Te Mana Cafe, all in Ocean Beach. $20. springboardwest.com/
