The Shins and Spoon are teaming up for a four-city fall mini-tour that opens Oct. 30 in Berkeley and concludes Oct. 5 outside Denver.
It will include an Oct. 1 show at Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU. That should come as good news to San Diego fans who were unable to attend either of The Shins’ two sold-out March concerts here at Observatory North Park.
The tour comes on the heels of acclaimed new albums by both bands - The Shins’ “Heartworms " and Spoon’s “Hot Thoughts.” The concert at SDSU will start at 5:30 p,m., presumably so both bands can play complete sets.
Tickets go on sale to the general public for all four of the joint concerts at 10 a.m. Friday. A fan club and Spotify pre-sale begin Wednesday at 10 a.m., followed by several other pre-sales.
Tickets for the San Diego concert are priced at $39.50 and $49.40 each, plus service charges, and will be available online at ticketmaster.com and by phone at 800.745.3000.
