Talib Kweli to perform at San Diego Symphony
In the month of January, the San Diego Symphony rolls out a month-long series exploring music made in and inspired by America.
On the roster includes hip-hop hero Talib Kweli performing at the Copley Symphony Hall on Jan. 13 and singer/songwriter Rosanne Cash on Jan. 12.
“Our American Music” festival officially kicks off on Jan. 5 and also includes nationally-recognized jazz stars, an evening themed around L.A. and New York and a performance from the members of Art of Élan.
The series will explore how the ways that American music, from the Native American drums to Hollywood scores, can unite us. The San Diego Symphony doesn’t perform in every program, but rather plays host to the series in order to best highlight the diversity in music and let those voices shine.
Ticket prices vary. For a full schedule of January concerts, visit sandiegosymphony.org.
