Switchfoot teams up with GigTown for free show
Local Music Appreciation Day is coming and to celebrate, GigTown and Switchfoot are throwing an epic party and live music event. Come out to Music Box on April 25 at 7 p.m. to listen to tunes and chat with local musicians, artists and supporters of the San Diego music community.
GigTown is an app that helps users find local music shows in their area, new music venues, original music and create a unique world of talent all on your phone. The app allows artists to earn money off fan check-ins at their shows and helps local music gain exposure.
The show will feature a performance by San Diego natives and famous rockers, Switchfoot. Also taking the stage will be local San Diego singer-songrwiters Ryan Hiller and Tyson Motsenbocker.
“We are appreciative of the immense encouragement we’ve received thus far and this is simply our way of thanking local musicians for supporting GigTown and each other with an evening of fun, dancing and some of San Diego’s finest craft beer,” said Andy Altman, Co-Founder and CEO of Gigtown in a press release.
The show is free for local artists signed up with GigTown. Artists are also allowed to bring along one guest. For non-GigTown artists that want to attend, you can sign up at GigTown’s artist signup page and also complete the form at gigtown.com/appreciatesd to be added to the list. This event is 21-and-up and identification will be checked at the door.
