San Diego Symphony offers big ticket sale
For a limited time only, the San Diego Symphony is offering up to a 70 percent savings on ticket prices for upcoming shows.
The $25 Seat Sale is one of the symphony’s biggest sales of the year and provides concertgoers with the opportunity to try something new. More than 15 upcoming spring concerts are included in the sale, including a Tribute to Dean Martin, Irish Dance for St. Patrick’s Day and Grammy Award-winning artists such as Lila Downs.
Included in the sale is the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance* performance on Sunday, March 15. In terms of influence and innovation, the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance has been at the progressive edge of the traditional Irish dance form for more than 30 years, paving the way for such famous acts as Riverdance and Celtic Woman. The company will introduce its newest production, “The Dawn,” choreographed by the academy’s founder, artistic director and longtime choreographer Mark Howard.
A Dean Martin Tribute, scheduled for Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, celebrates an American icon. Martin was a member of the infamous Rat Pack, an entertainer extraordinaire. With a reputation like that, there is no one better to showcase his life, music and contribution to the entertainment industry than his own daughter, Deana Martin. Deana Martin is an influential American singer, actor, hit recording artist and in-demand performer, playing to sold-out audiences worldwide, as an instantly recognizable voice and figure in the pantheon of The Great American Songbook.
On Friday, April 17, Grammy Award-winning singer Lila Downs* will take the stage. A world music superstar who is known for her unique synthesis of indigenous Mesoamerican music with cumbia soul and jazz, Mexican-born, California and Minnesota-raised Downs has a Grammy award and a red-hot international profile. Downs will be backed by her multi-cultural, multi-instrumental band La Misteriosa.
