Mumford & Sons extend tour, add San Diego concert
Mumford & Sons has added eight concerts to its 2016 tour, including an Oct. 6 date at Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista. Catfish and The Bottlemen will be the opening act for most of the new tour dates.
The new dates, dubbed the Austin 5000 Tour, will follow this month’s release of the English folk-rock group’s new mini-album, “Johannesburg,” which was recorded in between shows on its recent tour of South Africa. It teams them with Senegalese vocal superstar Baaba Maal, Malaawi duo The Very Best and Cape Town’s Beatenberg.
Ticket go on sale Friday for all 8 new tour dates. However, as of this writing, the Oct. 6 San Diego show does not appear on the websites for Sleep Train Amphitheatre or livenation.com. It does appear on the band’s website, However, the ticket link on the band’s website for the San Diego show goes to a Ticketmaster link that “no longer exists.”
Presumably, these kinks will be straightened out soon.
