Get lost in The Big Easy at House of Blues
Go big (easy) and celebrate Fat Tuesday every week during the month of February at the House of Blues San Diego. The weekly Tuesday event will featured a special “Big Easy” Cajun-inspired menu, Mardi Gras-themed specialty drinks, entertainment from the Cajun Playboys and prize giveaways.
Starting Feb. 7, the special Tuesday “Big Easy” menu, created by chef Jeremy Cantwell, will include Crawfish Étouffée, Blackened Catfish Po’ Boy, Shrimp Po’ Boy, Voodoo Egg Rolls, Mardi Gras Fries, and King Cake Cupcakes (one of which is included with any order of a featured menu item). Cantwell is a recent addition to the HOB team and is classically trained in French Cuisine, which brings an added twist to the Cajun Creole flavor on the specialty menu.
Toss one (or two) back with a lineup of over-the-top cocktail specials including Abita Mardi Gras Bock, SoCo Lime shots and the King Cake Cocktail. Bring your friends or coworkers along to enjoy the 51-ounce Fishbowl cocktails including Southern Madras, Purple Rain and a Mardi Gras Mai Tai. Specialty drinks range from $5-$28 (for the Fishbowls).
The Cajun Playboys, winners of the 2006 Cajun French Music Association’s “le cajun award” for the best Cajun band outside of Louisiana, will have the crowd stomping their feet and maybe even dancing through the aisles. The band will take to the stage at 6 p.m. each Tuesday.
All deals are available from when the restaurant opens at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays until close.
