Enjoy Baja culture and cuisine at Fiesta Del Mar
It’s about that time of year when a vacation to Mexico sounds like just the ticket. If an escape is a bit out of your range at the moment, we have a little more of a feasible celebration for all to enjoy what we love about Mexico right here in San Diego.
Head over to the Fiesta del Mar block party on Saturday, April 30 for a Mexico-meets-California event that celebrates the awesome relationship and friendship that Imperial Beach and Rosarito, Mexico have established.
The event will take place from noon to 7 p.m. at the Imperial Pier Plaza. Event-goers are encouraged to move it on the dance floor to live music from Todo Mundo, Jarabe Mexicano and Agustin Sanchez.
What is a cross-border Baja experience without delicious Baja-inspired cuisine? Enjoy food selections from Cohn Restaurant group’s Sea 180 Coastal Tavern to satisfy your cravings.
While you grub on some legit eats, cleanse your palate with various wines from Valle de Guadelupe wine country. There will also be craft beer picks from Montego, Estrella and other to-be-announced breweries.
This event is free to attend and all ages are welcome.
If you’re in need of more fun before the party starts, head over to Sea180’s Baja Beach Party on Friday, April 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. The restaurant pre-party kicks the weekend off right with a Baja buffet, featuring Puerto Nuevo Style Lobster, salsa and guacamole bar and other yummy bites. There will be a live Latin Jazz band and special appearances by Tommy Aros and Dan Reagan, former bandmate to Marc Anthony.
Tickets are $55 and include one margarita, all-you-can-eat at the Baja Buffet and complimentary valet parking.
