Ariana Grande is ready to embark on a second “Honeymoon,” in a manner of speaking.
The rising young vocal star’s “Honeymoon Tour” launched Feb. 25 and concludes April 16. Apparently that was a prelude to an extensive summer leg of her tour, which was announced Monday morning. Her summer concert trek will visit 35 cities. It begins July 16 in Florida, concludes Oct. 15 in El Paso and includes a Sept. 9 San Diego date at Sleep Train Amphitheatre. Prince Royce will be the opening act on all dates.
The winner of the 2103 Best New Artist trophy at the American Music Awards, Grande, 21, was up for two Grammy Awards in February, but went home empty-handed. Her 2014 single, “Problem,” which teamed her with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, entered the charts at No. 1 in 65 countries. Grande rose to prominence in 2009, after being cast in the Nickelodeon TV series “Victorious.”
Tickets for her summer tour go on sale to the general public Saturday, April 4, at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlet, online at livenation.com and by phone at (800) 745-3000. A fan club pre-sale begins at 4 p.m. today, Monday, as does the pre-sale for VIP packages. A pre-sale for Citi card holders begins Tuesday at 10 a.m. A Live Nation Mobile App pre-sale begins Thursday at 10 a.m.
Tickets for her Sept. 9 San Diego concert are priced at $28.50 to $86.50, plus service charges (which brings those respective totals to $34.75 and $105.30).
