‘American Idol’ alum to open for Queen in Las Vegas
Former San Diegan Adam Lambert, who has been singing with rock group Queen in recent years, is opening with the group in Las Vegas in September.
The Mount Carmel High grad, runner-up on American Idol in 2009, embarked on a solo career before teaming up with Queen, and since has sold more than 3 million albums. Lambert announced the 10-performance stint at the Park MGM in Vegas, featuring a string of ’70s and ’80s hits, on “Live With Kelly and Ryan” Monday.
“We’re calling it ‘The Crown Jewels’,” announced the legendary band’s frontman. “This is surreal. It’s crazy.” Tickets go on sale Friday.
