Share

KAABOO Del Mar may be the carefree, three-day escape you’ve been looking for, but there are a few key pieces of advice to keep in mind during your escapades.

Here are nine insider tips to make your KAABOO Del Mar experience as gratifying as possible.

Tip #1: Get a Fast Pass

Zip past the lines with the purchase of a Fast Pass so you can bypass the main gate and get to groovin’ a little quicker.

Tip #2: Arrive early

There’s so much beyond the bands at KAABOO that you’ll want to navigate before the grounds get packed. Gates open at 11 a.m. each day, so you can start with a lap through the upscale food offerings, the art installations, the craft beer bars and score some swag at vendor booths all before lunchtime.

Tip #3: Stay late

Although the outdoor live music will end at 10 p.m. each night, the “Encore” after-parties will take place at indoor venues ending at 2:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Stay up late to catch bands like Icona Pop, Cherub and Girl Talk perform.

Tip #4: Plan your exit carefully

All guests are permitted one exit and re-entry per day. Just make sure you’re back inside the gates by 8 p.m.

Tip #5: Store your stuff safely

When you’re dancing around all day, the last thing you want to do is worry about losing your things. You can rent out lockers on a first-come, first-served basis or secure them in advance by making a reservation on kaaboolockers.com priced at $59-$79 for three days.

Tip #6: Only bring what you need

Here’s an abbreviated list of things you might want to bring: Blankets, beach towels, backpacks, empty water bottles, strollers, point-and-shoot non-professional cameras, GoPros without poles or extensions, wheelchairs and lighters.

Tip #7: And do NOT bring the following

The list of NOs include drugs, alcoholic beverages, glass containers, outside food or beverage, factory-sealed water bottles, coolers, large bags, flags, umbrellas, chairs, tents, pets, professional cameras, inflatable items, yard games, Frisbees, bicycles, skateboards, drones, spray paint, opened medications and fireworks.

Tip #8: Take public transportation

KAABOO and NCTD/MTS will offer a $12/day unlimited transportation pass for COASTER, SPRINTER and BREEZE, including all MTS/NCTD buses and trolleys. Visit GoNCTD.com or sdmts.com for schedule information. The closest stop to KAABOO is the Solana Beach Station, which is only about one mile from the venue. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a complimentary double-decker bus, which will drop you off at the main gates of KAABOO. In order to board the bus, you must show proof of valid NCTD/MTS pass.
