ROC Race becomes ‘Wipeout’-inspired WIPEOUTRUN

Share

Big news for San Diego’s VAVi Sport & Social. The company that launched the widely-popular ROC Race back in 2011 has officially partnered with Endemol North America to introduce an all-new WIPEOUTRUN.

Modeled after the hit TV series “Wipeout,” this gameshow-inspired obstacle course launches in March and will make its way to over 20 cities including San Diego, Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Chicago, New York, Phoenix, Atlanta, Los Angeles and the Bay Area.

Fans of the ROC Race (Ridiculous Obstacle Course) can expect a similar 5K challenge, with expanded and improved tests to capture the craziness of “Wipeout.” The 12 larger-than-life obstacles include wrecking balls, tumble tubes, foam slides, sweeper arms and big balls just as you’ve seen on the show, promising big splashes and crashes for brave racers.

“ROC was born out of the belief that people not only love watching popular game shows on television, but they want to participate, too,” says Latane Meade, president of VAVi Sport & Social. “Combining ROC Race and ‘Wipeout’ was a vision we always hoped to realize, and we’re thrilled to formalize this partnership and launch this exciting new event series.”

ROC Race started in San Diego in 2011 by VAVi, quickly becoming one of the fastest-growing obstacle series in the nation. This partnership with Endemol, the leading independent producer of entertainment television, proves a massive success for the local brand.

WIPEOUTRUN takes on San Diego on May 9 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Registration is open and is currently priced at $60 per person. Use code DSDWIPEOUTRUN for $5 off! Visit wipeoutrun.com/sd.
