Ready for a Yogathlon?

Share

I’ve always wanted to do a triathlon, except for all that cycling and swimming. A three-stage race with yoga, strength training and a fun run sounds way more my speed.

Jeans 4 Justice is filling this fitness void with a yoga-style triathlon in San Diego. Yes, it’s called Yogathlon and it’s coming to Liberty Station on Saturday, September 21. The J4J team partnered with Yoga Six, in celebration of their one year anniversary in Point Loma.

The three-part challenge starts at 10:30 a.m. with a 45 min. FIT60 Sculpt session, which is a boot camp-style class taught by Y6 instructor Kristin Lovett. Next up is a 5K fun run course around NTC Promenade, followed by a one hour yoga and partner stretching class with Y6 instructor Lora Heiner. Activities will be held outside in the park, and all ages and fitness levels are welcome to participate.

It’s a tough workout with serious meaning. Proceeds benefit Jeans 4 Justice, a local non-profit social change organization committed to ending sexual violence in our communities.

The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and on-site registration opens at 9 a.m. Tickets are $40 per person, $100 per team of three and $15 for kids under 15. You can pre-register online via stayclassy.org.
