Although chocolate and running do not usually go hand in hand, the unlikely duo is coming together on March 26 for the Hot Chocolate 15k/5k.
Beginning and ending at Petco Park, "America's Sweetest Race" invites runners of all levels to run along the downtown and Balboa Park course while collecting hot chocolate and fondue toppings along the way.
Since the first race in 2008, the Hot Chocolate 15k/5k has had over 200,000 participants race for Ronald McDonald House charities throughout the nation, making it the "fastest growing racing series in the nation."
The race will kick off at 6:45 a.m. for 5K runners and 7:40 a.m. for 15K runners. Once participants reach the end of the course, they will be treated with a mug of hot chocolate, a dance party and kid zone for the whole family to enjoy.
Registration is $54 to run in the 5K and $79 for the 15K. For tickets and more information, visit hotchocolate15k.com/sandiego.
