Bolt Up: San Diego Chargers Season Preview

It’s bolt season, baby! The time has come for full-on Chargers pandemonium to return to San Diego.

San Diego Chargers spirit is reawakening as the season begins against the Oakland Raiders on Monday, September 10. This year’s lineup has many anticipating a refreshing success for our football studs and plenty of home games have fans ready to bust out that bolt gear once again.

The San Diego Chargers are back for their 43rd season in the NFL. Head coach Norv Turner will once again lead his team in hopes of improving their 8-8 record of 2011. The whole Southern California region will be holding their breath to see if the Chargers will make it to the playoffs this year (they’ve been absent since 2009). Key additions to this year’s team include wide receivers Robert Meachem, Eddie Royal and Roscoe Parrish and running back Ronnie Brown, adding to the already established names like quarterback Philip Rivers, running back Ryan Mathews and tight end Antonio Gates.

While the schedule begins with an away game against the Oakland Raiders, the Chargers will then return home for two weeks against the Tennessee Titans and the Atlanta Falcons. Other highlights of the season include October 15 against the Denver Broncos and December 23 against the New York Jets. It will end as it began, against the Oakland Raiders on December 30. As the season picks up speed this fall, our Chargers pride isn’t plateauing anytime soon.
