Disney Parks Designer Collection launches May 24
The happiest place on earth is about to get even more glamorous.
This week, Disney announced its latest fashion accessory line: Disney Parks Designer Collection. The upcoming, limited-edition collection will feature new styles of Mickey Mouse ear hats and Minnie Mouse ear headbands — all designed by prominent celebrities, designers and artists.
Disney collaborators include Heidi Klum, Vera Wang, Karlie Kloss, The Blonds, Betsey Johnson, Coach, Cupcakes and Cashmere, Harveys, Alex and Ani, Loungefly, and Ashley Eckstein. Additional designers are expected to join the impressive lineup later on.
The capsule launches on May 24 with a design from Harveys, a Santa Ana-based handbag company. After that, a new collaboration will drop monthly. The headwear products will range in style, color and material, but will all use the iconic ear silhouette.
Klum, whose ears are anticipated to be released in September, said she hopes Mickey and Minnie Mouse fans like herself enjoy wearing her sparkly take on the signature look.
“Bedazzling the most famous ears in the world is like a dream come true for me. I am still pinching myself,” Klum said in a tweet.
In addition to designing her version of the Minnie Mouse ear headband, Vera Wang — a self-described “lifelong lover of Disney” — will also create a wedding veil for the collection.
“The hand sewn crystal and pearl embroidery, together with the same silk and tulle fabrics that we use in our wedding gowns, bring a sense of authenticity and beauty to this signature headpiece,” Wang said in a press release, adding that her designs can be enjoyed by brides and collectors alike.
Though this collection is the first of its kind, some of the designers have previously partnered with Disney on other projects, such as a Harveys handbag collection and Alex and Ani’s selection of bracelets.
Prices will range from $58 to $600. All products will be available at both Disney theme parks in California and Florida, as well as online at shopDisney.com/disney-parks-designer-collection.
