In late October, TOPSHOP and TOPMAN opened at Fashion Valley Mall, the British retail darling’s first San Diego outpost. The two-story, 17,500-square-foot (nearly a half- acre) space, which formerly housed Old Navy, is now among the UK-based chain’s 900-plus stores that have opened worldwide since the brand’s inception in 1964.

For America’s Finest and most fashionable femme fatales, TOPSHOP’s upper-level digs showcase a limited-edition boutique line, designer collaborations and the brand’s famous denim collection. For the city’s dapperest dudes, TOPMAN’s downstairs offerings include sophisticated suits, causal wear and footwear.

“We carry a strong variety of relevant, fashion- forward trends, as well as everyday essentials that we all love and need in our wardrobes,” says store manager Kathleen Todd. “We cater to a wide variety of customers, everyone from the young professional shopping looks for work, to the urban, street-style fashionista shopping for the hottest trends.”

Taking TOPSHOP/TOPMAN over the top are its A-list devotees. Beyoncé, for example, will launch an activewear line with TOPSHOP this fall; Kendall Jenner frequently wears TOPSHOP gear to red carpet events and British model Cara Delevingne is currently featured in the brand’s spring/summer 2015 campaign.
