Share

Tomorrow, Uptown will take a trip up north to strut its stuff for The Boulevard at the Fair.

Hosted by the El Cajon Boulevard Business Improvement Association, the event showcases local businesses that call El Cajon Boulevard home.
All festivities will take place in a booth located in the Del Mar Arena at the fair. Activities on June 13 range from games and performances to food and beer, featuring Uptown breweries, boutiques, restaurants and more.

Stop by at noon to snap a shot in Layfayette Hotel’s photo booth or try your hand at beer pong during the Boulevard “Ale Trail.” Then enjoy entertainment from Salsa Sabado, featuring Melomano Dance Entertainment at 1:30 p.m.

From 2:30-4:30 p.m., 30ECB Hour focuses on two businesses located in 30ECB, the neighborhood hub around 30th St. and El Cajon Blvd. First, Lips Restaurant’s drag queens take to the stage, followed by a tasting from the Cajun seafood restaurant Shrimp Heads.

After the 30ECB Hour, LK Fashion Boutique walks the runway at 4 p.m. for an African fashion show.

End the evening by grabbing some samples at the “Little Saigon Food Crawl” featuring Little Saigon District Chinese restaurants A-Chau and Vien Dog World Food Supermarket at 5 p.m., or at the 6 p.m. “Taco Tour” highlighting Tacos la Mezcla.

The Boulevard at the Fair is an effort to promote summer events and programs happening along El Cajon Boulevard to attract new visitors to the neighborhood as the weather warms up. All of the day’s events are free with fair admission.
