Food, entertainment, dog-friendly contests at annual Escondido festival

For fun along Grand Avenue in Escondido, how about the Grand Avenue Festival? There will be hundreds of vendors with handmade crafts, plus food and local entertainment. On the Maple Street Plaza stage, check out folklorico and other dance performances, theater troupe performances, and a mixed martial arts demonstration. Over on the Chase bank lawn stage, take in some belly dancing, a canine unit demonstration by the police department, and pet contests for categories like best trick or best costume.
