Paul McCartney announces new stadium shows in San Diego, Los Angeles, Green Bay and Arlington, Texas

Paul McCartney has added four new stadium concerts to the U.S. leg of his 2019 “Freshen Up” tour, including at San Diego’s Petco Park on June 22 and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on July 13.

The other two new dates are June 8 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., and June 14 at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas. Ticket information appears below.

This will be the former Beatle’s first San Diego concert since his rousing performance, also at Petco Park, in 2014.

Word of McCartney’s San Diego return, first leaked in September — via his own Facebook page.

The San Diego Padres baseball team, which plays its home games at Petco Park, will be on a road trip when McCartney performs here June 22. He will turn 77 on June 18, four days before what will be only McCartney’s second San Diego concert since a 1976 show with his post-Beatles’ band Wings at the San Diego Sports Arena.

In a 2005 Union-Tribune interview, McCartney — then 63 — was asked if ever regretted not titling “When I’m 64,” his classic Beatles song, “When I’m 74” or “When I’m 84?”

“Hmmm,” he replied. “Well, I’m going to rewrite it.”

With the addition of the four new 2019 concerts, McCartney’s “Freshen Up” tour now numbers 12 U.S. dates. It is in support of his latest album, “Egypt Station,” which was released earlier this year.

Ticket prices for the San Diego concert range from $29.50 to $299.50 each, plus service charges, through mlb.com/padres/tickets/concerts/mccartney.

Tickets will go on sale for the San Diego, Los Angeles and Arlington concerts Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets for the Green Bay concert will go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. local time.

A pre-sale for American Express card members in San Diego, Los Angeles and Arlington begins at 10 a.m. Monday, local time, and runs through 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Starting Dec. 12, there will be at least seven other pre-sales in San Diego for Padres’ season ticket holders, corporate partners and other Padres-affiliated groups.

A pre-sale for American Express card members in Green Bay begins at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 5, and runs through 10 p.m. Sunday.
