Taste of Point Loma showcases peninsula’s sweet and savory fare
Hundreds of foodies will sip and savor their way through Shelter Island at the annual Taste of Point Loma on Wednesday. Restaurants, cafes and bakeries will offer local and out-of-town guests samples of fresh seafood, decadent desserts and a variety of ethnic cuisine, as well as the option to purchase a complementary drink at an additional fee. Four-legged friends are welcome to the tasting. Dog-friendly patios are marked with a paw print next to a restaurant’s logo on the map. Free shuttle service will be available starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Portuguese Hall every 30 minutes to pick up a new group of visitors. Proceeds will benefit the Peninsula Chamber and Point Loma Association in support business outreach, promotion and the community.
Taste of Point Loma: 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. United Portuguese SES, 2818 Avenida de Portugal, San Diego. $25 general; $20 students, military and cyclists. bit.ly/2urF7Gs
