What to do beyond the Con...

Share

Beyond the Con lies a world worth exploring. From streets that are blocked off and closed down for sound-thumping events, to The Hilton Bayfront, to bars and beyond - there’s something for everyone.

Some of the most interesting things worth checking out beyond the Con are just a stone’s throw away at The Hilton. I recommend checking the set-up here first. There’s the happening Odysea Lounge, which offers guests cocktails and a nice breather from the wild beast that is Comic-Con.

Outside of the hotel, there are Comic-Con themed activities like a stunt-jump, rock climbing wall, horror film screenings, outdoor panels, pool parties and games galore.

The proximity to the event, and the fact that all activities are free, make it easy for attendees to escape, do something active, enjoy a drink and regroup before heading back to the “Game of Thrones” panel or whatever nighttime activity it is that cannot be missed.

There is also a lot (of course) going on downtown, with specials at bars and restaurants throughout the corridor. Fifth Avenue becomes essentially closed to traffic besides pedestrians dressed as their favorite characters. The music is loud, the people vibrant, which creates an instant party-like atmosphere for all to jump in on - whether you have a Comic-Con badge or not.
