Taste of the Port returns to San Diego bayfront

Share

Fresh seafood on the bay front in San Diego? Sign us up! Waterfront restaurants will gather to cook up some locally-sourced, sustainable dishes at the Taste of the Port event on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m.

The event will feature a chef competition in which the winning chef’s prize is (besides bragging rights) a donation to their charity of choice. The participating chefs include: Executive Creative Chef Katy Smith of Puesto, Executive Chef Michael Poompan of Marriott Coronado Island Resort & Spa and Executive Chef Kyle Kovar of Tom Ham’s Lighthouse.

Attendees can taste the best of port restaurants like Bali Hai, Flour & Barley, Tuna Harbor Dockside Market, Gelato Paradiso, Blue Wave Bar and Grill, Slow Food Urban San Diego and more. What’s a food fest without some drinks to wet your whistle after all those delicious samples? Satisfy your thirst with a sip of a Coronado Brewing Company, Mike Hess Brewing or Mission Brewery beer, or go for some Rekorderlig Cider instead.

The event will also showcase live product demos and live entertainment throughout the evening.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at eventbrite.com.
