Sunset luau series launches at Catamaran Resort
The rich Polynesian culture is alive and well in San Diego, bringing back a summer sunset luau series to the Catamaran Resort and Hotel this Friday.
On Fridays from June 26 to September 4 and Tuesdays from July 21 and August 18, the sunset luaus welcome all ages to experience a true celebration of Polynesian food, music and traditional dances. The evenings on Mission Bay include a lei greeting, Mai Tai, all-you-can-eat buffet and more festive fun. Local luau specialist Pride of Polynesia provides the authentic island music and dance, featuring hula and fiery torch dancers.
Now in its 15th year, the summer sunset luaus dish out Kalua roast pig, roast salmon, guava chicken, ginger scented stir fry and desserts that include pineapple upside down cake, coconut cream cake, passion fruit crème brulee and haupia.
Tickets are $69 per adult; $32 per child ages 5-12 and free for those under five. Guests of the hotel, groups and military receive discounts. A full list of prices and more information can be found at catamaranresort.com.
