Santee Fido Fest returns for tail-wagging fun
It’s a cat’s worst nightmare but a dog’s equivalent to Disneyland.
In its second year, the Santee Fido Fest is returning to Town Center Community Park East. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, dogs and their owners are invited for a day of tail-wagging fun.
Throughout the day, dogs can interact with other canines while owners browse exhibits and take part in several demonstrations presented by Behavior Buddies Dog Training, Guide Dogs for the Blind and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit. Owners can also take advantage of special offers for “vaccinations, micro chipping, dog licensing and heartworm and flea preventatives provided by the San Diego County Animal Control.”
For those who are looking to expand their furry family, Petco and other rescue groups will be hosting dog adoptions at the event.
This year, Fido Fest will host a silent auction with proceeds benefitting Dogs on Deployment, an organization that helps military personnel find volunteers to care for their pets when they are overseas.
The event is free, but some activities do have costs. For more information, visit ci.santee.ca.us.
